Daniel Knowles, MAMuEd., MA, CCC-SLP
Daniel Knowles is a singing teacher and a California licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) who holds the national board Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Daniel is a Singing Voice Specialist, a medical-based SLP and singing teacher who rehabilitates damaged singing voices.
Daniel Knowles Voice Studio has been in the same West Hollywood, CA location since 1997. In 2018 Daniel began West Hollywood Speech-Language Pathology (WHSLP) and the West Hollywood Voice Clinic (a division of WHSLP, which specializes in voice and performance/singing voice rehabilitation). Clinic offices and the voice studio are in the same West Hollywood, CA building.
Daniel holds two Master's degrees related to singing voice training and voice and singing voice rehabilitation. He has a Master of Arts in Music Education: Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from California State University, Los Angeles (2007) and a Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders: Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, Fullerton (2015).
As a medical-based SLP, Daniel has worked with voice and singing voice rehabilitation in the hospital and outpatient clinic settings. Daniel's undergraduate studies include an Associate of Arts degree in music/voice from Rancho Santiago Collage (Santa Ana, CA, 1995), Bachelor of Arts degree in music/voice from California State University, Fullerton (2001), and a postbaccalaureate certification in speech-language pathology from California State University, Los Angeles (2012).
Research during Daniel's graduate degrees include Classical and Non-Classical Singing Techniques: Selecting and Integrating Strengths of Each Approach (Master's Thesis, California State University, Los Angeles, 2007) and Rehabilitation Tools for the Singing Voice Specialist: A Collection of Singing Voice Rehabilitation Exercises and Lesson Plans that Are Extensions of Traditional Speaking Voice Therapy (California State University, Fullerton, 2015).
Daniel is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, California Speech-Language-Hearing Association, The Voice Foundation, a founding board member of the Los Angeles Chapter of The Voice Foundation, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Voice and Speech Trainers Association, and the Medical Speech-Language Pathology Council of California.
